Sensex, Nifty trade in red; Westlife Development surges 9%

The domestic benchmark indices are trading in red in the late afternoon session on Thursday. The shares of Westlife Development have rallied 9 per cent to Rs 444 in intra-day trade on the BSE in otherwise range-bound market on Thursday. The stock is trading close to its record high price of Rs 464, touched on May 8, 2018 in intra-day trade. The firm -- master franchisee of McDonald's restaurants -- focuses on putting up and operating Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) in India through its subsidiary Hardcastle Restaurants.

At 14:18 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 37753.64 up by 1.47 points or by 0 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11336.8 down by -4.9 points or by -0.04 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 37907.78 and intraday low of 37693.69 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11383.45 and intraday low of 11313.75.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1694.05,+3.53%), YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 251.60,+2.97%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 152.55,+2.69%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 467.70,+2.54%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 241.70,+1.34%), among others. The top losers of the BSE Sensex were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 187.70,-3.52%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1008.15,-1.95%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 2769.50,-1.30%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 388.00,-0.98%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 1989.25,-0.59%), among others.

Among sectors, Realty index was at 1946.19 up by 36.8 points or by 1.93%. Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 88.50,+6.76%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 200.65,+4.32%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 642.15,+2.52%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 212.00,+1.97%), Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd. (Rs. 26.20,+1.95%),. On the flip side, CDS index was at 22783.45 down by -160.91 points or by -0.7%. Voltas Ltd. (Rs. 601.50,-2.74%), VIP Industries Ltd. (Rs. 431.00,-1.47%), Symphony Ltd. (Rs. 1316.05,-1.43%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 1069.00,-0.82%), Whirlpool of India Ltd. (Rs. 1590.40,-0.44%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2913, shares advanced were 1207 while 1525 shares declined and 181 were unchanged.
