Sensex rises 386 pts; Nile Ltd slips 7%

The equity indices are trading positive led by gains in Pharma and PSU Banks. The shares of Nile Limited slipped over 7 per cent after net profit fell 32 per cent at Rs 2.7 crore, against Rs 4 crore in March 2018. As per the report, the company’s revenue fell nearly 24 per cent to Rs 126.7 crore, compared to Rs 166.5 crore in the previous financial year.

At 14:22 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 37476.84 up by 386.02 points or by 1.04 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11254.95 up by 106.75 points or by 0.96 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 37476.84 and intraday low of 36956.1 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11255.25 and intraday low of 11108.3.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 337.40,+5.92%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 417.40,+5.18%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 159.95,+3.70%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1264.55,+2.74%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1430.75,+2.60%), among others. On the other hand, the top losers of the BSE Sensex were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1064.25,-1.71%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2938.80,-1.13%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 712.00,-1.12%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 2902.90,-0.88%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2114.15,-0.80%), among others.

Among sectors, Power index was at 1874.13 up by 29.64 points or by 1.61%. Adani Power Ltd. (Rs. 41.05,+6.76%), CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 37.55,+6.52%), Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. (Rs. 107.00,+6.41%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 63.55,+6.09%), Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 5.85,+4.46%),. On the flip side, IT index was at 15361.34 down by -157.92 points or by -1.02%. 63 Moons Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 157.45,-4.98%), MIC Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 0.94,-4.08%), HCL Infosystems Ltd. (Rs. 14.40,-3.68%), D-Link (India) Ltd. (Rs. 78.70,-3.02%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 795.00,-2.49%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2679 , shares advanced were 1192 while 1335 shares declined and 152 were unchanged.
