Nifty below 11,902; Reliance Capital dips 7%

The frontline indices have extended their losses and are trading more than half of a per cent lower in the morning session. Among sectors, metal stocks gained over 1 per cent while bank, auto, financial service and IT stocks shed more than 0.7 per cent. In individual shares, the shares of IndusInd Bank rallied 0.7 per cent after Deutsche Bank, global brokerage firm, retained buy call on the stock. On the other hand, the shares of Reliance Capital slipped 7 per cent after the company’s statutory auditor Price Waterhouse & Co Chartered Accountants LLP (PwC) resigned with effect from June 11, 2019.

At 10:22 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 39721.71 down by -228.75 points or by -0.57 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11901.9 down by -63.7 points or by -0.53 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 39982.1 and intraday low of 39721.16 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11962.45 and intraday low of 11899.45.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 505.80,+2.64%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 173.00,+2.22%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 395.25,+1.40%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 170.65,+0.98%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1435.00,+0.61%), among others. On the other hand, the top losers of the BSE Sensex were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 136.00,-2.37%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 2946.00,-1.48%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 357.95,-1.42%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2221.20,-1.40%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1092.60,-1.34%), among others.

Among sectors, Metal index was at 11149.31 up by 179.43 points or by 1.64%. Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (Rs. 170.15,+4.97%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 51.30,+3.53%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 505.80,+2.64%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 173.00,+2.22%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 202.75,+1.63%),. On the flip side, TECk index was at 7840.33 down by -80.9 points or by -1.02%. Bharti Infratel Ltd. (Rs. 276.30,-2.61%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 357.95,-1.42%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2221.20,-1.40%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1092.60,-1.34%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 753.65,-1.08%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 1936 , shares advanced were 903 while 933 shares declined and 100 were unchanged.
