Indices open higher, Nifty above 11k

It is positive start for the indices on September 11 on the back of firm global cues with Nifty holding above 11,000. Hopes of diminishing US-China tensions and reduced risk of no-deal Brexit prompted investors in Asia to take profit in risk-off trade ahead of key central bank policy meetings.

Besides, market participants are expected to track stock-specific action, oil price movement, and the Rupee's trajectory, and investment by FIIs and DIIs to steer through the day.

At 9:37 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 37241.21 up by 95.76 points or by 0.26 % and then NSE Nifty was at 11029.7 up by 26.65 points or by 0.24 %. Sensex touched intraday high of 37273.15 and intraday low of 37193.57 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11034.8 and intraday low of 11011.65

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 67.75,+7.37%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 126.25,+3.57%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 57.35,+2.96%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 361.40,+2.23%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 144.20,+2.16%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 822.90,-0.76%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1463.10,-0.54%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 244.90,-0.24%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1081.55,-0.24%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 711.75,-0.15%), among others.
