Sensex rises over 124 pts; Meghmani Organics rallies 5%

The Indian benchmark indices continue to trade in the positive terrain in the late morning session led by gains in infra and banks stocks. Sectoral indices led by auto, bank, energy, infra, metal, pharma are trading in green except FMCG and IT.

Among others, the shares of Meghmani Organics rallied over 5 per cent after the company decided to foray into Epichlorohydrin project of capacity 50,000 tonnes per annum which will be based on TechnipFMC’s EPICEROL technology.

On the other hand, the shares of Wipro tanked 1.7 per cent after global brokerage firm CLSA retained sell call on the stock amid poor execution. The research house has a target price at Rs 220 per share, implying 14 percent potential downside.

At 11:37 hours, the SENSEX was trading at 37270.36 up by 124.91 points or by 0.34 per cent and then NSE Nifty was at 11042.65 up by 39.6 points or by 0.36 per cent. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 37318.7 and intraday low of 37193.57 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11048.2 and intraday low of 11011.65.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 70.15,+11.17%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 130.70,+7.22%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 59.20,+6.28%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 362.95,+2.67%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 144.65,+2.48%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1060.45,-2.19%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 817.50,-1.41%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 704.80,-1.13%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2164.45,-0.86%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 426.25,-0.59%), among others.

Among sectors, Realty index was at 2031.06 up by 68.61 points or by 3.5%. DLF Ltd. (Rs. 162.90,+5.64%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 538.10,+4.95%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 935.45,+4.61%), Housing Development & Infrastructure Ltd. (Rs. 6.20,+2.31%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 301.80,+1.53%),.

On the flip side, TECk index was at 7772.63 down by -82.17 points or by -1.05%. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 355.10,-2.19%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1060.45,-2.19%), Just Dial Ltd. (Rs. 728.15,-2.16%), Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 250.50,-2.00%), Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd. (Rs. 1644.00,-1.90%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2324 , shares advanced were 1602 while 603 shares declined and 119 were unchanged.
